Hey there! I’m Brooke Barrick, owner of Double B Photography.

I’m a full-time lifestyle photographer specializing in couples, maternity, newborn, family, and occasions based in the Metro Detroit area. Wow- that sentence feels crazy to say because what a journey it was to get here. While I’ve had a passion for taking pictures for as long as I can remember, it took a bit to muster up the courage to make it my career.

What feels like forever ago (man, 27 is hitting hard), I attended Grand Valley State University where I majored in pre-law, but it didn’t take me long after college to realize I had a passion for empowering others and let’s be honest, working in the legal field doesn’t often provide that opportunity. I followed a few paths from there, but continually found myself longing to use my artistic vision while making others feel good… so I finally followed my heart and Double B Photography was born.

Double B Photography is a product of countless professional courses, shadows, practice sessions, equipment investments, and a couple mental breakdowns (lol) but most importantly it’s a product of my heart. I strive to capture your unique and authentic story through my lens with the hopes that you leave the session with double the confidence you came with. I mean after all, my friends call me “the biggest hype girl they know,” so don’t say I didn’t warn you!

When I’m not hauling around a heavy lens, you can catch me travelling with my husband, playing with my pug, miniature schnauzer, and orange kitty, eating cheesy potatoes, listening to Tyler Childers and Mac Miller, drinking Caymus with friends, or adventuring outdoors!
